Web Screenplays

Via Scoble, I came across AstonishingTales.com, which turns any web site into a screenplay. I fed http://hyperthink.net/blog into this thing and the results had me laughing until coffee came out my nose. This thing is genius.

A small sample of the movie starring Kate Winslett, Tom Hanks, and my blog:

THE NEXT DAY

TOM HANKS is preparing to leave forever.

CUT TO.

INT. A TAXI

KATE WINSLET

Hurry, TAXI DRIVER. TOM HANKS is about to get on a plane and leave forever and I've just realised that it is because of a ghastly misunderstanding.

TAXI DRIVER

Sorry, KATE WINSLET, but we are in a traffic jam that has dramatically sprung up in order to create dramatic tension.

HYPERTHINK.NET (BRAIN.SAVE()) suddenly climbs on top of the roof of the taxi.

HYPERTHINK.NET (BRAIN.SAVE())

(yelling)

In general, I'm against using properties unless you really need them.

The other cars, hearing what HYPERTHINK.NET (BRAIN.SAVE()) has to say, suddenly all pull over and let the taxi through. It races to the airport just in time.

KATE WINSLET

(yelling)

TOM HANKS! TOM HANKS!! Don't go! I understand now that it was all a ghastly misunderstanding.

TOM HANKS

Okay. I won't go.

He doesn't go.

KATE WINSLET

I love you, TOM HANKS.

TOM HANKS

I love you, KATE WINSLET.

HYPERTHINK.NET (BRAIN.SAVE())

This preserves the semantic of the original property implementation, but eliminates a function call.

TOM HANKS and KATE WINSLET

Hahahahahaha!!!!
