My phone is broken

Oneof the problems with being totally reliant on a cell phone is thatoccasionally, it breaks. Like tonight, for instance.

My phone (an Audiovox smartphone) is getting moody, stubbornly refusing to bootup when the SIM card in installed. It gets about halfway through the bootprocess and then just powers back down. No amount of coaxing can get it to bootsuccessfully with the SIM card in. It boots fine without the SIM card, but thatdoesn’t really do me much good…

I think it’s the SIM card that’s causing the problem. Butregardless, I’m phoneless until I can get myself to the Cingular storeand have them take a look at my SIM. So if you’ve been trying to call meand I haven’t returned your calls, that’s why.

Update: My phone seems to have miraculously healed itself. It went through the slow process of coming back to life -- first it wouldn't boot, then it would boot but couldn't place calls, and now it works fine. All without me doing anything but leaving it alone and powercycling it from time to time. I did get one ActiveSync 'critical error', which might have been the root cause of the whole thing -- who knows?
